User-centred designer & researcher
Build the right thing, and get the design right. It sounds so simple, and yet is so devilishly hard to do. As a user-centred designer and researcher (a.k.a. UX designer and researcher) with over 15 years under my belt, not to mention a masters in Human-computer interaction, I can ensure that a product hits this elusive sweet spot.
I have both led and directly carried out the design and research for countless digital products over the years. I’ve worked as part of an in-house team, and within agencies. I’ve worked as the sole designer/researcher, and as a lead managing other designers and researchers. I’ve worked in large corporations, and small start-ups. I’ve worked with off-shore teams, and local teams. I’ve worked on Agile projects, waterfall projects and even ‘Scrumfall’ projects. I’ve worked in companies just starting out on their digital design journey, and places where it’s embedded in their DNA.

Agile & Lean UX
“Neil played a pivotal part in the design of our UXLS toolkit as he lead the design team responsible for delivering the UXLS toolkit website. Neil expertly managed the team despite the challenges of leading a remote design team under significant time pressures. Neil is clearly very knowledgeable about UX and his design contributions have been of the highest standard.”
Paula de Matos
Project Manager for UXLS project at Pistoia Alliance
“I worked with Neil at CashFlows, I was Leading the Front-end Development and Neil was Leading UX. As a Front-end Developer you are reliant on UX Designers to provide great designs and well thought through validated ideas for any project to be a success, Neil delivered on both accounts. I can highly recommend Neil and hope to work with him in the future.”
UI Development lead at CashFlows
“Neil epitomises UX through and through. Grounded in solid user research, Neil always strives for the ideal solution that matches customer needs with business needs. Not always easy to do, Neil achieves this time and time again. Neil is at ease taking a leading role in the team and is an excellent manager. I have no hesitation in recommending Neil.”
